Overview
Cold shrinkable cable accessories are pre-expanded, silicone or EPDM-based components designed for quick, tool-free installation on medium/high voltage power cables (XLPE, PILC). Unlike heat shrinkable cable accessories, they eliminate the need for open flames or specialized heating equipment, ensuring safer, faster deployment in utility, industrial, and renewable energy applications.
Standards Complies with IEC 60502, IEEE 404, BS EN 50393, and ASTM D2671 for electrical performance, mechanical durability, and environmental resistance. Suitable for use in harsh conditions (-50°C to +130°C).
Construction Material: High-grade silicone rubber or EPDM with excellent UV, ozone, and chemical resistance.
Core Design: Pre-stretched over removable plastic support cores for controlled shrinkage.
Integrated Components: Stress control layers, insulation barriers, and waterproof seals.
